The Exquisite Pearl
And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sâbirin (the patient ones, etc.). (Al-Baqarah 2:155)

“Jihaad fee sabeel Lillah (in the cause of Allaah), despite its overriding importance and its great influence on the future of Islaam, has been neglected by present scholars, although they know that it is the only way to bring Islaam back and cause it to come to the surface again. Every Muslim seems to prefer the ideas and the philosophies that he fancies instead of the best way that Allaah has drawn for honour, power and glory of His servants. But there is no doubt that the tyrants of this earth will only be removed by the might of the sword, and that is why the Prophet (PBUH) said: “I have been sent before the Hour with the sword until Allaah is worshipped alone with no partner, and my sustenance has been placed underneath the shade of my spear, and the disgrace and the abasement have been inflicted on those that oppose my command, and whoever imitates a people is one of them.”

Book in English: Signs of ar-Rahman in Jihad of Afghan by Shaykh Abdullah Azzam

“This book was written by Shaykh Abdullah Azzam during the Afghan-Soviet Jihad in the 1980’s. It deals specifically with first hand accounts of the miracles that occured during this Jihad.
.
Shaykh Abdullah Azzam writes, ‘These incidents which are going to be narrated are, in reality, more extraordinary than one can possibly imagine, and appear to resemble fairytales. I have personally heard them with my own ears; and have written them with my own hands from those Mujaahideen who themselves were present. I have heard these miracles from such men who are trustworthy and reliable, and who have been constantly on the battlefield. The miracles are many, so much so that they more or less reach the degree of Tawaatur i.e. such a large number that does not entertain the possibility of fabrication. I have heard numerous such miraculous episodes, but brevity does not allow me to enumerate all of them.
.
Allaah Ta ‘ala has not made it except as a glad tiding, so that your hearts may achieve tranquility by it.’
.
Shaykh Abdullah Azzam Time Magazine described Shaykh Abdullah Azzam as the man who was the ‘reviver of Jihad in the 20th Century’. Abdullah Yusuf Azzam was born in the village of Ass-ba’ah Al-Hartiyeh, province of Jineen in the occupied sacred land of Palestine in 1941 CE. He was brought up in a humble house where he was taught Islam, and was fed with the love of Allah, His Messenger (saw), those striving in the Way of Allah, the righteous people and the desire for the Hereafter. Sheikh Abdullah Azzam was one of the first Arabs to join the Afghan Jihad against the communist USSR in 1979, when he learned about the Afghan Jihad, he left his teaching position at King Abdul-Aziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and went to Islamabad, Pakistan, in order to be able to participate in the Jihad. He was a fine example of Islamic manners, in his piety, his devotion to Allah and his modesty in all things. He would never adulate in his relations with others. Shaykh Azzam always listened to the youth, he was dignified and did not allow fear to have access to his brave heart. He practiced continual fasting especially the alternate daily fasting routine of Prophet Dawud (as). He strongly counselled others to practice fasting on Mondays and Thursdays.
.
The Shaykh was a man of uprightness, honesty and virtue, and was never heard to slander others or to talk unpleasantly about an individual Muslim. On 24 November 1989. The enemies of Allah planted three bombs on a road so narrow only a single car could travel on it. It was the road Shaykh Abdullah Azzam would use to drive to the Friday Prayer. That Friday, the Shaykh together with two of his own sons, Ibrahim and Muhammad, and with one of the sons of the late Shaykh Tameem Adnani drove along the road. The car stopped at the position of the first bomb, and the Sheikh alighted to walk the remainder of the way. The enemies, lying in wait, then exploded the bomb. A loud explosion and a great thundering were heard all over the city. People emerged from the mosque, and beheld a terrible scene. Only a small fragment of the car remained. The young son Ibrahim flew 100 meters into the air; the other two youths were thrown a similar distance away, and their remains were scattered among the trees and power lines. As for Shaykh Abdullah Azzam himself, his body was found resting against a wall, totally intact and not at all disfigured, except that some blood was seen issuing from his mouth. Sheikh Abdullah Azzam himself once said, ” Indeed Islamic history is not written except with the blood of the Shuhadaa’, except with the stories of the Shuhadaa’ and except with the examples of the Shuhadaa’. ” May Allah (swt) accept him amongst them.”

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
To my future wife, who would conceive my children and educate them with tawheed and akhlaq as exemplified by Rasulullah SAW and his successors who remain upright upon the path of tawheed and jihad. I am writing you this letter so that you will not get disappointed and sad someday in finding a partner like me who is full of shortcomings.
My future wife, I am writing you this letter so that you understand better the road we are going to travel and where we are heading as Allah's creatures who are burdened by the Almighty in this temporal world. So that we will be better prepared to mutually understand, to mutually empathize and to be grateful for what have been outlined by Allah SWT for our family.
My future wife and the future mother of my children, you probably already know what road I travel and what kind of life I want. I hope you will be a companion who is pleasant in this world in order for me to remain istiqamah in the path of the Rasul and his followers. Always making the call oftawheed as the most important thing in life and always teaching people the importance of returning to the main source of our Dien, Islam.
Perhaps later, there will be many trials, hardships and sufferings encountered in wading through our marriage, as human beings we may sigh, cry and could even be cursing the fates. But rest assured, it is all a trial to make us plenary humans and to educate us to remain firm in all weather and conditions.
Allah says: “And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient,” (QS Al-Baqarah :155).
My future wife, if one day I still cannot make you every bit happy like any other wives, forgive me. But as a husband, I will always try my best to be the best, providing sustenance which are halal, though not much and fulfilling your rights. So help me realize that even if it is only with your smile.
My future wife, if one day I go far away and will not return for long, look after my properties, spend some of the properties that you have in Allah's cause and fulfill the rights of your brothers and sisters in iman if you are able to fulfill it. And take care of my honor as your husband, unify with the Muslimahs whose hearts are tethered to paradise, who guard their gaze when alone and when with others, so that I can feel at peace for leaving a woman and a mother who look after what are left by her husband.
My future wife, you know I'm not a perfect person in every way. So help me improve it with your advices, your criticisms and anything that can make the obedience to Allah and His Rasul increases everyday. Make our family a family that is ready to accept the inputs from anyone even if it is a small child. Because the truth is not recognized from who is speaking but from what is said.
And lastly, my future wife, make our children one day be like the lion, who are not afraid to defend the truth, not surrendering to circumstances and are always tough in the midst of an offensive storm. Teach them to be an angry man when the truth is humiliated, teach them to fight against any oppression on anyone and educate them to dare to sacrifice anything, even their lives for the honor of Allah, His Rasul and the believers.
Maybe I am expecting too much from you, too demanding on you and asking what might be too heavy for you. But believe me, I as a husband will try to be a good companion, a loyal listener to your inputs and advices, to help each other to continue to be obedient to Allah and His Rasul.
I write this letter with all my weaknesses, all my faults, so that you understand with whom you will navigate this life. So that you will know that a marriage is not always honey and milk. Also so that you will not be a barrier in fulfilling my mission of da'wah, and become the first enemy in weakening my spirit for jihad in the cause of Allah SWT.
Before we meet as a husband and wife, let us always pray the do'a that had been read by the warrior which shook the thrones of tyranny, As-Shaheed Sayyid Quthub:
O Muhaymin (The Guardian), if I fall in love, guard my love so that it does not exceed my love on You.
O Allah, if I fall in love, let me touch the heart of someone whose heart is attached to You,
so that I do not fall into the abyss of a monotonous love.
O Rabbi, if I fall in love, guard my heart on her so that it does not turn away from Your Heart.
O Rabbal Izzat, If I yearn, make me yearn for someone who yearns for shaheed in Your path.
O Allah, If I yearn, guard my yearning on her so that I do not forget to yearn for Your Paradise.
O Allah, if I take pleasure from the love of Your lover, let that pleasure not exceed the pleasure of a munajat in the last third part of Your night.
O Allah, if I fall in love with Your lover, do not let me falter and fall in the long journey of calling mankind towards You.
O Allah, If You allow me to long for Your lover, do not let me go beyond the limits which makes me forget that true love and eternal longing are only with You.
O Allah, You are the All-Knowing that these hearts have come together in the love for You, these hearts have met in the obedience towards You, these hearts have unified in the da'wah towards You, these hearts have united in defending Your Shari'ah. Make the bond steadfast, O Allah. Make the love everlasting. Show us the ways. Fill these hearts with Your Nur (Light) which never ever fade. Comfort our breasts with the blessings of iman in You and the beauty of tawakkal in Your Path.
May Allah hear my do'a and your do'a and unite us in the shade of His Rahmah (Mercy, Grace) and make us a force that is loyal to Him.
From me,
Your future husband,

“And it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know.” (AI-Baqarah, 2:216) |
Asalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatulahi wa Barakatuhu,
A Reminder:
“So our time that we are complaining about, among all the other generations after the Sahaba, although our time is not exactly the same it is the most similar to the time of the Sahaba. Why? Because when the Sahabah came there was no Islamic authority and there is no Islamic authority today and this was not the case for fourteen hundred years. When the Sahabah came, they fought entire surroundings including the two super powers – the Persian Empire and the Roman Empire – and all the ‘Arabs around them that were against them. And this is similar to our situation today and this wasn’t the case in our history before. In our history before you would find Islamic authority, you would find people to assist you in Al-Haqq, and there was a place to make Hijrah to. Now we find that the whole world is waging a war against us and this is similar to time of the Sahabah, which means the ajr of the people today could be very great. We are not saying it is equal to the ajr of the Sahabah but it is going to be very great. This is why Rasoolullah (sallallahu ‘alayhe wassallam) has mentioned in a hadith that even though the best generation is of the Sahabah, then the Tabi’een, then the Taba Tabi’een, there will be a generation of people at the end of time and the ajr of one of them will be equal to the ajr of fifty! So the Sahabah asked, “Fifty of us or fifty of them?” Rasoolullah (Sallallahu ‘alayhe wassallam) said, “Fifty of you.”
So the Salah will be like the Salah of fifty Sahabah. You fast one day and it will be like the fasting of fifty Sahabah. The ajr is multiplied by fifty, why? Because of the difficulty of that time.
We notice that Rasoolullah (sallallahu ‘alayhe wassallam) said that towards the end of time that there will be people who will be amongst the greatest of this Ummah. Rasoolullah (sallallahu ‘alayhe wassallam) said in hadith that ‘Out of ‘Aden-Abyan will come out twelve thousand; they will give victory to the Deen of Allah and they will be the best between me and them.’ (Aden-Abyan is located in South Yemen, and today there is an active and popular Jihadi movement there in that locality)
They are the best between Rasoolullah (sallallahu ‘alayhe wassallam) and their time. So we can wrap all of these Centuries, and they will be the best. The reason is because their time will be most similar to the time of the Sahaba.
So why complain if you are living in the time of the new gold rush; not a gold rush for gold but a gold rush for Hasanaat? There are some times when the economy is booming so fast and everybody becomes rich and then there are times when things are stagnating and slow so these people wish they were living in the time when economy was booming so they could become a millionaire like those before. We are living in a time of a boom now; but we just need to realize it and realize the amount of ajr that is out there waiting for us if we just go and do something. The ajr is so great that it’s waiting for someone to come and do something about it. If it comes at a time when things are easy then the ajr is reduced. But if the time is one of difficulty, then the ajr is increased.
Ajr is in accordance to the difficulty. So why complain about a time when really, it is the best time?
If we are talking about the time when victory is around the corner, Wallahu ‘Alam if we are experiencing the knowledge of the Ghayb when Rasoolullah (sallallahu ‘alayhe wassallam) said they (i.e., the Victorious Group) will be the ones to give victory to the Mahdi, to ‘Esa ibn Maryam (‘alayhis salaam); if we are close to that time, the ajr is astronomical, and we do not want to be waiting on the sideline when all of this is happening; people are making millions while you are sitting at home doing nothing. So we shouldn’t complain about our time.
Rasoolullah (sallallahu ‘alayhe wassallam) said, “Indeed Allah gathered up the earth for me so that I saw its eastern and western parts, and indeed the dominion of my Ummah will reach what was gathered up for me from it.
(Saheeh Muslim #2889 collected that Thawbaan (radiyallahu ‘anhu)
So this religion will reach to every continent, to every country, and to every city. The banner of La ilaaha illAllah will enter into every city. This religion will reach wherever night and day reaches; is there a place where night and day doesn’t reach? So you O Kafir, O Munaafiq, if you want to hide away from this religion you will need to go to mars or somewhere else! There will be no place for you on dunya! So we must all agree that victory is on its way, but the question is when?”
